The Alaska Travel Industry Association advocates on behalf of its members to promote a healthy and vibrant tourism industry whether it is through a robust tourism marketing program or by addressing issues that are of importance to the visitor industry.
Every year the ATIA Board of Directors identifies the top priorities of the industry for the Government Relations team to execute. ATIA informs stakeholders and policy decision makers of these priorities and oftentimes calls on the ATIA membership for support. You can lend your voice to the important tourism issues of the day by signing up to be an ATIA Root.
Members are also encouraged to bring forth issues to ATIA to consider through the Tourism Policy & Planning Committee. This past year ATIA has taken a stand on matters such as the Federal Lands Recreation & Enhancement Act, Harbor Seal viewing regulations, campground facilities, J1 Visa status, cruise ship wastewater discharge and more.
